30 Ninjas has these two first look photos of CORIOLANUS, which is Ralph Fiennes‘ directorial debut. Both images show battle scenes shot in in the Serbian city, Pancevo, and they strangely remind us of The Hurt Locker, which Fiennes had a cameo in.
The CORIOLANUS script was written by John Logan (Gladiator, The Aviator, The Last Samurai).
The story is a contemporary version of Shakespeare’s Rome-set political and family drama.
Gerard Butler will play Tullus Aufidius, commander of the Volscian army.
CORIOLANUS is a 1608 tragedy by William Shakespeare, based on the life of the legendary Roman leader, Gaius Martius Coriolanus, check out the original story OVER THERE
Director Fiennes isn’t joking around, he’s round up a group of people who give acting a good name, William Hurt, Eddie Marsan, Jessica Chastain and Vanessa Redgrave. View both images after this jump…
