LOST’s Damon Lindelof To Rewrite ALIEN Prequel For Ridley Scott?

Damon Lindelof might be busy writing STAR TREK 2 with Roberto Orci and Alex Kurtzman but Deadline said he’s going to get even busier because he reportedly closed a deal with 20th Century Fox to rewrite ALIEN prequel which brings Ridley Scott back as the director. Previous script was written by Jon Spaihts. The report went on to say that Lindelof did meet with Scott and the studio about the job but their meeting could also lead to a “free-standing science fiction film”. The decision will be made by Fox once Lindelof turns his script in.
In my opinion, this is an excellent move, Lindelof is one of the brightest, most talented screenwriters working today and to have him on board such project as ALIEN Prequel will definitely counter any doubt about whether or not ALIEN prequel itself is a good idea. It could only get better from here on out with his involvement.
This is just as excellent as when Disney hired Brad Bird and Michael Arndt to rewrite TRON LEGACY for those reshoots.
