Mandalay Does The UNTHINKABLE

Another graphic novel is getting a big screen treatment. Heat Vision says Mandalay Pictures has bought the screen rights to the action/thriller comic book UNTHINKABLE, from Boom!Studios. Created and written by Mark Sable, the story is about “a group of people that’s been hired to think the UNTHINKABLE. But what happens when the unthinkable actually happens? After 9-11, best-selling author Alan Ripley joins a government think tank consisting of the most imaginative minds in diverse fields. Their job? Think of nightmare scenarios and crippling terrorist attacks so the government can safeguard against them. Years after the think tank was disbanded, the attacks the man concocted begin to occur, and he becomes the only one who can stop them. But the government has become his pursuer”
Intriguing concept, it reminds me of Live Free or Die Hard where the bad guy, played by Timothy Olyphant, was once a guy telling the government how the terrorists can attack the U.S. digitally but he got ignored and ‘crucified’ and so he and his crew bring those ideas to life and seriously attack the country.
