Marcus Nispel To Direct CONAN

Shortly after it was official that Brett Ratner would no longer be the director of CONAN Reboot, CHUD reported 3 possible candidates that are being considered for the job. Now we won’t have to look any further because CHUD once again got the scoop and the helmer of Friday the 13th Remake and Texas Chainsaw Massacre Remake, Marcus Nispel is going to tackle CONAN for Millenium and Lionsgate.

If they’re still sticking to the plan then production is expected to start on August 24th in Bulgaria. This reboot promises to go loyal to the 1930s original stories by Robert E. Howard’s original pulp stories, they’re aiming for an R-rating presentation.
No muscle-bound actor has been cast yet to play the Barbarian hero but word has it the role might go to an unknown.

Nispel  was recently was attached to direct THE LAST VOYAGE OF DEMETER but after this info, who knows if he’s still going to work on that one.
I still think Patrick Tatopoulos (Underworld: Rise of the Lycans) should’ve been the one to direct this project instead of Nispel and that freak of nature from Son Of The Beach, Roland Kickinger should get the shot as the lead star. Any one of you would second that motion?
