Adapted Ten Thousands Saints Novel to be Directed by Oscar Nominated Duo

New York, NY (January 10, 2014) – Maven Pictures and Archer Gray Productions have today announced they will produce the film adaptation of Eleanor Henderson’s critically acclaimed novel Ten Thousands Saints.

Set in the sometimes glamorous – and often gritty – East Village Punk scene of 1987, Ten Thousands Saints is a coming of age story following a young man, Jude. Sent to live with his estranged father in Manhattan, the tale follows Jude on an unforgettable journey where he discovers love, music and forges a new connection with dad Les.

Academy Award nominee Ethan Hawke (Gattaca, Before Midnight) has signed on to play Les and Asa Butterfield (Hugo, Enders Game), who recently wrapped X plus Y, has been cast in the role of Jude. Butterfield is represented by CAA and Independent in London. The film will also star Academy Award nominee Hailee Steinfield (True Grit).

Ten Thousands Saints will be directed by Oscar nominated duo Bob Pulcini and Shari Berman (American Splendor) with producers Anne Carey and Amy Nauiokas for Archer Gray Productions, Trudie Styler and Celine Rattray ( Filth) for Maven Pictures, and Luca Borghese.
