Director Kenny Ortega (High School Musical movies) was Michael Jackson‘s longtime friend and choreographer, whose documentary This Is It was a box office hit last year, released a few months after Jackson’s untimely death. And just like the millions of fans out there, Ortega still can’t get over Michael…

You know the world’s gone insane when people who’ve passed away are still making more money than you and me who are still alive. Just this past year alone, Jackson posthumously managed to take in $275 Million for his estate. And he’s about to get richer because Deadline said there are 2 movies in his honor that are going to be in development.

One of them is not exactly a biopic. GK Films is trying to acquire a package for a film that’s going to be fashioned around Jackson’s legendary song THRILLER. The 1983 music video directed by John Landis (An American Werewolf In London) is considered by many to be the greatest music video of all time. Ortega is attached to direct and Jeremy Garelick (The Hangover) will write the screenplay.
No details yet on the plot but the website it will have something to do with the song’s folklore “involving Vincent Price and the town he grew up in”, Thriller songwriter Rod Temperton will also be involved with this project.

The other MICHAEL JACKSON movie is from Ivan Reitman and Tom Pollock and this one is more of a biopic that will focus on Jackson’s younger years.

If those 2 are not enough, how bout this.. Cirque du Soleil is in talks to do 2 live shows based on Jackson’s music.
I still need to see Cirque du Soleil’s Love show based on The Beatles music. I keep hearing great buzz about it.

Yup, Michael Jackson dead is only getting richer each day.
