MIGHTY MOUSE To The Big Screen

Here I come to save the day! Andy Kaufman made that line famous, but it was from the classic animated series MIGHTY MOUSE, the mouse superhero that comes to the rescue whenever Mr. Trouble hangs around. Apparently there was an 1982 film Mighty Mouse In The Great Space Chase which I haven’t seen but this isn’t about that. LA Times said Paramount Pictures and Nickelodeon Movies are developing a new MIGHTY MOUSE Movie…

Alvin and The Chipmunks,… Garfield, and we’re also going to have SPEEDY GONZALES, and THE SMURFS Movies.. in that same hybrid (live action and CG) format is how MIGHTY MOUSE will fly to the big screen again.
No word yet if his 2 girlfriends…  one of them is Pearl Pureheart and the other Mitzy (in the 50s and 60s comic) and his villain cat Oil Can Harry will be part of the story.

Paramount and Nickelodeon have been trying to get this off the ground all this time, going from one scribe to another Maurice Chauvet and Christopher Vail and Brian and Mark Gunn were among them.
but over the last few months, they’re seeking new writer and new director to finally try to tackle this crime fighting mouse created by Terry Toons in the 40s as a parody of Superman, the mouse even had a blue costume with a red cape before he changed into a yellow costume with a red cape.

Marvel and DC are bringing their superheroes to the big screen and Paramount/Nick got a freakin’ mouse… which might be re-imagined completely instead of straight up basing it on the old comic books, the 50s series or the 80s series.
Right now IMDb has MIGHTY MOUSE to open in 2013 but that’s probably not official. That was the plan a while back, now they’re starting anew.
