Nestor Carbonell, whom many of us fans of the series Lost would recognize as the ageless Richard, reprised his role as Gotham City’s Mayor Anthony Garcia in the upcoming THE DARK KNIGHT RISES. Carbonell told MTV that he finished shooting his scenes about a month ago in Pittsburgh. He couldn’t reveal much but he was willing to say what the fans can anticipate from this final Nolan’s Batman installment..

“He [Nolan] has announced that this is his last go at ‘Batman’ but yeah, if it is the last for him, he certainly goes out big. It’s massive. What I saw of the sets was just unbelievable. When we were shooting a particular scene I snuck around to see the image on the dolly of what the D.P., Wally Pfister, Academy Award Winner [was shooting]. I looked and immediately thought, ‘Wow, I see why he is who he is, it’s beautifully framed, beautifully shot, half is on IMAX.’”

Like others who’ve worked with Nolan, Carbonell also took the time to praise the filmmaker..

“He’s one of these amazing storytellers in our generation, he’s one of the guys who’s taken that genre and grounded it and done something with it that hasn’t done before. He’s made it that much more real, much more accessible, and he’s made a psychological thriller out of all of them, so he’s great, he’s amazing.”

Carbonell also took the time to give a shout out to his co-star, the great Gary Oldman a.k.a Jim Gordon..

“Great to see Mr Oldman, he’s the man. You’ve seen the trailer, already you can tell the guy is unbelievable.”

Filmed in 3 continents, with more use of IMAX cameras, THE DARK KNIGHT RISES, which opens on July 20th, 2012, stars Oscar® winner Christian Bale again plays the dual role of Bruce Wayne/Batman, Anne Hathaway, as Selina Kyle; Tom Hardy, as Bane; Oscar® winner Marion Cotillard, as Miranda Tate; and Joseph Gordon-Levitt, as John Blake, Oscar® winner Michael Caine as Alfred; Gary Oldman as Commissioner Gordon; and Oscar® winner Morgan Freeman reprises the role of Lucius Fox.
