‘Ninja Fans Are Going To Love’ G.I. JOE 2

Super producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura, at the red carpet premiere of TRANSFORMERS: DARK OF THE MOON, took the time to chat with MTV about G.I. JOE 2.
Some who wondered if Dwayne Johnson would just do cameo, like what Brendan Fraser did in the first film, or if he’s going to play a big role in this film, Lorenzo’s got the answer..

“full-on lead role… In a way, he and Snake Eyes, their stories are really dynamic and very important.”

So who’s going to love this movie? Which specific genre fans are going to love this sequel?

“The ninja fans are going to love it. There’s a tremendous amount of it. What’s interesting is, we both have that going on in the Snake Eyes story, but we’ve found a way to bring that element into the Joes’ story. I think anybody who’s a fan of dark, in the middle of the night [action with] a dangerous foe arriving, this is a movie for you.”

Justin Bieber: Never Say Never director John Chu (Step Up 3) will helm this Paramount’s sequel. And as far as characters go, so far only SNAKE EYES, STORM SHADOW and DUKE are expected to return. Previous casting rumor said the character Cross-Country might become part of the story.
Collider previously reported that filming will start in mid-August in New Orleans. Word has it G.I. JOE 2 will neither be shot in 3D nor will it be post-converted to 3D.
G.I. JOE 2 opens August 10th, 2012

G.I. JOE 2 starring Channing Tatum as Duke and Dwayne Johnson as Roadblock. Yung will play a ninja named Jinx.
The plan is to introduce a bunch of G.I. Joe characters that weren’t featured in the previous installment, G.I. Joe: Rise Of Cobra..
RZA will play a martial arts master named the Blind Master who trained with Snake Eyes and Jinx.
D.J. Cotrona will play Flint
