Oscar Snubs Take Their Frustration To Twitter
January 26, 2012Rama2 CommentsAlbert Brooks, Charlize Theron, Drive, Patton Oswalt, Russell Crowe, Ryan Gosling, Tilda Swinton, Young Adult

When the 2012 Oscars nominations were announced this past Tuesday morning, a lot of people, including yours truly, were surprised that Drive didn’t get nominated for its acting category, not even for Albert Brooks‘ phenomenal performance as the gangster boss.
Another surprise is how Tilda Swinton’s and Charlize Theron’s names weren’t mentioned. The movie Young Adult didn’t get love. I genuinely thought that at least the film’s co-star Patton Oswalt would get considered but nope, not even him..
This is the day and age of celebrities tweeting and so right after the moment that Brooks got snubbed, he tweeted the following..
“I got ROBBED. I don’t mean the Oscars, I mean literally. My pants and shoes have been stolen,”
“And to the Academy: ‘You don’t like me. You really don’t like me.’”
“Tomorrow morning I find out if I have to go to any more events that Christopher Plummer wins,”
Ok, so what did Patton Oswalt tweet? He tweeted a lot, here’s some and he even turned into some kind of Oscar snub party, every name that didn’t get mentioned on Tuesday (Including Andy Serkis) is invited..
“Join me for a drink at The Drawing Room, @AlbertBrooks? Me and Serkis have been here since 6am,”
See you later tonight. Might be out of booze — Serkis has Pogues on the jukebox & Fassbender just showed up in a pirate hat.
Oh shit — we’re DEFINITELY going to run out of booze. Charlize & Tilda just pulled up in a stolen police car.
Dude, GET DOWN HERE. Gosling is doing keg stands and Olsen & Dunst LITERALLY just emerged from a shower of rose petals.
Nolte & Plummer just drove past, mooning us. Serkis & Tilda are signing “Is There Life on Mars?”
Oops — Von Trier just pulled up in a pass van dressed as Goering. “Let’s go to Legoland!” With a boozy hurrah, we’re out!
Oh. My. God. Just pulled up to Legoland. DiCaprio’s rented the park for the day. Dibs on the Duplo Gardens! #andscene
But Oswalt and Brooks aren’t the only ones tweeting. Turns out, Russell Crowe who weren’t in any significant movie last year, was pissed that Ryan Gosling and Albert Brooks didn’t get nominated, he tweeted the following..
“Ryan Gosling didn’t get an Academy nomination? There’s some bulls–t right there,”
“Albert Brooks you were excellent in Drive. Excellent.”
What do you think?
Do you think Brooks and Oswalt are being sore losers? Or do you think Oscars are in the wrong for not nominating them.

I’ll worry about Ryan when Swinton gets her nomination.
I hope I too one day can get rich and powerful enough to win an oscar.
