Paul Giamatti Is Friar Lawrence In ROMEO AND JULIET

Variety reported that one of the greatest actors alive, Paul Giamatti has joined the cast of ROMEO AND JULIET, a new indie take on Shakespeare’s classic tale, to be directed by Italian filmmaker Carlo Carlie (Flight Of The Innocent) from a script by Julian Fellowes (Gosford Park, The Tourist).
Hailee Steinfeld plays Juliet, Holly Hunter plays the Nurse who raised Juliet.  Ed Westwick plays Tybalt, Kodi Smit-McPhee plays Benvolio. Douglas Booth plays Romeo. Paul Giamatti plays Friar Lawrence, Romeo and Juliet’s advisor.
The budget is pretty low, at about $15 Million, this film is described as the Rome And Juliet story for the Twilight generation.
