Variety said Sara Paxton (The Last House On The Left), Dustin Milligan, and Katherine McPhee (The House Bunny) have all signed on to join the cast of David R. Ellis-directed SHARK NIGHT 3D from Sierra Pictures and Incentive Filmed Entertainment..
SHARK NIGHT 3D was written by Jesse Studenberg and Will Hayes. Ellis who shot The Final Destination with 3D cameras is expected to shoot SHARK NIGHT with 3D cameras as well. Plus the animatronic sharks for SHARK NIGHT 3D will be created by Walt Conti, the effects man behind Deep Blue Sea, the giant snake in Anaconda and the Free Willy whales. Ellis used to be the second unit director for The Perfect Storm and Deep Blue Sea, so he knows a thing or two about water shoots.
Also starring Sinqua Walls, Chris Carmack, Alyssa Diaz and Joel David Moore, who most of you would recognize for his stint in the billion dollar 3D movie Avatar.
“the story revolves around seven men and women who spend a weekend at a lake house in Louisiana’s Gulf area. When their vacation quickly becomes a nightmare of hellish shark attacks, unheard of in freshwater lakes, they soon discover that the sharks are part of a sick, greedy plan on the part of several locals.”
Walls will play a Tulane University linebacker with plans on marrying his college sweetheart, played by Diaz
Carmack is the ex-boyfriend of the female lead who was scarred in a boating accident. They haven’t cast an actress to play the female lead yet.
Moore plays the comic relief, a socially awkward guy who thinks himself as a young Brad Pitt.
Production starts this month in Louisiana.
