Back in March, Vin Diesel said that the next Fast & Furious installment, FAST FIVE will be set in Brazil.. seems like now Brazil is just the location in the story, not the location of production because according to a source at comingoon, via Puerto Rico Newspaper El Nuevo Dia, FAST FIVE will shoot in Puerto Rico from July to August. Much about that island, the streets and the neighborhoods, will be transformed to look like the streets, neighborhoods and offices in Brazil.
It doesn’t state why they take this direction, I can only assume either to save costs, or tax incentives or maybe they don’t find it safe to shoot in Brazil, if you know anything, feel free to chime in.
Chris Morgan wrote the screenplay for FAST FIVE. Justin Lin will return to direct and the story is about Dom (Vin Diesel) and Brian (Paul Walker) as fugitives being pursued by relentless lawmen
Also starring Dwayne Johnson, TJ Hassan, Tego Calderon and Don Omar.

FAST FIVE opens June 10th, 2011
