Quentin Tarantino Has Written 40 Pages Of BASTERDS Prequel

Here’s another episode of “Quentin Tarantino talks and talks and talks some more about upcoming projects”. Don’t get me wrong, I admire the man, it’s no secret that I’m one of his biggest fans as far as filmmaking goes, but maybe he should stop sending mixed signals or unnecessary, confusing clues and hints during chats and interviews to throw people off.. and just do the damn thing already. By the way, remember all those.. talks of Inglourious Basterds prequel? It’s been going for quite some time now. Tarantino talked to Vulture, revealing that he’s written 40 pages but before he’ll make it happen, there’s another project that he wants to do first…
Tarantino says he has 40 pages of it written. He’s not giving up on the idea or the script, especially if the original film does well at the awards shows. But he’s got another project, which he’s keeping under wraps, coming first. It’s going to be “smaller, less epic” in scale than Basterds, and in a “different genre entirely.” He says he thinks he can finish it in a five- to six-month period of intensive writing.
Tarantino also shared some more interesting thought on his recent foreign press tour for Basterds, and the reactions in Germany and Israel, you can watch the rest OVER THERE.
This is just me asking crazy here, only because he said “different genre entirely”, do you think Tarantino could tackle rom-com, horror or straight up raunchy comedy without the risk of losing his signature style?
I wonder what The Ugly Truth or The Hangover would be like if Quentin Tarantino was the director?
