Ridley Scott Says ALIEN Prequel Is A Brand New Box Of Tricks

Ever since the announcement about Ridley Scott returning to direct ALIEN prequel with scribe Jon Spaihts writing the screenplay, fans are wondering what on earth it’s going to be about since the logline is kept under wraps and it will precede the first movie meaning Sigourney Weaver won’t be reprising her role. How the damn creature got on board is one of the assumption of the direction Scott will be taking but Empire asked the great Brit director, it kept calling him Sir Ridley Scott, and he revealed that they’ve got something entirely different already planned…
“It’s a brand new box of tricks,”
“We know what the road map is, and the screenplay is now being put on paper. The prequel will be a while ago. It’s very difficult to put a year on Alien, but [for example] if Alien was towards the end of this century, then the prequel story will take place thirty years prior.”
“I never thought I’d look forward to a sequel,”
“But a prequel is kind of interesting. I’m looking forward to doing that.”
30 years prior! That’s quite a jump. So where does the human factor come into play? And will it somehow connect itself to the rest of the series? How do you think it’s going to play out?
After those horrid Alien Vs. Predator movies, I gotta be honest, I didn’t feel excited about another ALIEN movie but in Ridley Scott we trust and this brand new box of tricks he spoke of could mean there’s more coolness, surprises, traits to the acid-blooded monsters that we’ll soon get to know.
