Robert De Niro Governor George Wallace Midnight Run

I’m probably alone on this one but I honestly thought Robert De Niro gave his best performance in years with Everybody’s Fine. Of course, many thought the movie wasn’t all that so his performance got overlooked. In a recent article at Deadline Hollywood, a few of De Niro’s upcoming projects were revealed…

It says that the great De Niro is set to star in ANOTHER NIGHT IN SUCK CITY (I’m sorry but that’s just an awful title, no thought into it) directed by Paul Weitz, also starring Casey Affleck.
Another project is SELMA, a desegregation movie by Precious director Lee Daniels. It says that De Niro is going to play Alabama Governor George Wallace. According to Wiki, Wallace was considered “the most influential loser in the 20th century”, he ran for U.S. President four times but he was mostly known for being a pro-segregation attitudes during the American desegregation period. So while the nation was adjusting roughly to the changes, he was stubborn.
Didn’t De Niro play similar type of character in Men Of Honor? I haven’t seen that movie in a while.
Last but not least, another MIDNIGHT RUN Movie.. I kid you not and guess what, the first Midnight Run was in my book for one of the most entertaining movies of the 80s.
No details on this one but it says that the project is in mid-development. I’ll keep my ears open.
