Rodriguez Explains Why The Popular Shot From PREDATORS Trailer Is Not In The Movie

If you’ve seen the trailer for Robert Rodriguez-produced PREDATORS, directed by Nimrod Antal, you’d notice a particular scene that was meant to strike fear into the heart of everyone who sees it. But if you’ve seen the entire movie this past weekend, you’d also notice that it didn’t show up quite exactly how the trailer suggested it…

It’s the scene where Adrien Brody‘s character Royce was covered with a lot of Predators‘ gun sights. That scene that made you wonder how in the world is Adrien gonna get himself out of this sh*tty situation.
It’s not unusual for something to show up in the trailer but then the filmmaker decides not to include it in the theatrical version, or that the filmmaker intentionally adds a twist to the trailer without any plan of ever including it as part of the movie at all.

Rodriguez explains to MTV
“You don’t want people to always know,”
“A lot of my movies have trailer shots that I shoot just for the trailer, so that people haven’t seen the movie already but they get the feeling of what it’s supposed to represent.” ad
“It’s kind of a good twist to do that,”
“If you go and you think that’s what it’s going to be, and then it’s not that and it ends up happening in another place in the movie.”
