Roman Polanski Gets Bail And House Arrest

Roman-Polanski

It makes me sick to my stomach talking about this. I thought the Swiss justice system would be tougher but I guess money speaks louder than words or actions. Last month the good info was that Swiss Justice Ministry has REJECTED an appeal by Roman Polanski to be immediately released from prison, it didn’t even grant Polanski any bail even after he offered his Gstaad chalet as collateral, which was estimated to be more than half of his personal wealth but Variety and THR said that Swiss has granted Polanski $4.5 bail…

The report says that apparently the court was aiming for cash but to make sure he stays put, on top of the bail, the court has accepted Polanski’s offer of a bank guarantee and the threat of sacrificing his family’s home if he fled justice.
Is it just me, or does it sound like Polanski is the one setting the terms right now?!
That’s not all, he filmmaker who brought us Chinatown, Rosemary’s Baby and Chinatown, is going to be placed under house arrest in his chalet in the Swiss resort of Gstaad, he’ll be wearing an electronic monitoring bracelet.
So he’s out of jail and into house arrest. Sorry but I don’t see this as a worthy punishment. A house arrest in a Swiss resort? They might as well report it as him going on a vacation.

Polansi was detained in Zurich, while he was on his way to accept a film award. He pleaded guilty back in 1977 for having sex with a 13 year old girl but he fled the States right before he had to do the jail time. Fast forward to 30+ years later, now Polanski will finally answer to the blindfolded lady with a scale and a sword in her hands.
My question is, when are they going to extradite his ass already and throw him to long term jail?! That’s the process that they’ve been trying to calculate but it’s been taking too damn long, if you ask me.
