Ruben Fleischer To Direct WB’s GANGSTER SQUAD

He was one of the many names considered. And now, according to Deadline, WB is in talks to have Ruben Fleischer (Zombieland) direct GANGSTER SQUAD (formerly known as Tales From The Gangster Squad)..

TALES FROM THE GANGSTER SQUAD, based on a series of LA Times Article by Paul Lieberman. It’s a true story about the LAPD’s secret squad of mercenary cops assigned to hunt down the infamous gangster Mickey Cohen, a member of the Jewish Mafia in the 40s. Cohen once worked for Meyer Lansky and Bugsy Siegel.
The screenplay was drafted by former South Central LA cop/novelist Will Beall.
