Sam Worthington Is Signed For 2 More AVATAR Movies

I got quite a bit on my plate today so I’d like to apologize to you for the lack of updates but I don’t want to leave you hanging without knowing at least the juiciest stuff out there. Ya know, I haven’t seen Jim Cameron‘s 3D epic AVATAR but the question whether the character Jake Sully would survive the final battle at the end scene is now answered because Sam Worthington himself has revealed, via Marketsaw that he’s signed on for a trilogy…
“You work 18-hour days. I was on it for 14 months. Jim’s still editing. We’ll still be filming it up to the day it’s released — probably after the movie comes out, knowing Jim! That commitment is what makes him the man he is. It’s life or death. It’s war. That’s how he approaches movies… We’re signed for a trilogy. But I think I’ll be 94 by the time it finishes, to be honest. I know Jim’s got some ideas in his big head.”
He said “We”, so it’s not clear yet which other actors are locked in for the AVATAR sequel,
When it comes to AVATAR we’re talking about what could be the biggest movie of the last decade, how bigger and more ambitious does Cameron want the sequel to be? This one already took years in the making, would he really want to go through the gruesome process all over again? Who am I kidding’, it’s Cameron who made Terminator 2, I’m sure he’s looking forward to the second round but going into this without knowing if the first AVATAR is going to make profit at the box office is a bit gutsy.
But maybe the sequel would do much better, since by then audiences are already familiar with what’s going on instead of calling it Blue Giant Smurfs. Maybe it will bank more money the way TDK did compared to Batman Begins.
