Scorsese And De Niro To Reteam On THE COMEDIAN?

The following is not an info about THE KING OF COMEDY reboot, phew! thank God! But it is somewhat reminds us of that 1982′s classic starring Robert De Niro, directed by Martin Scorsese. For a while now, the legendary team has been looking for the right gig to become their reunion gig. A mobster movie, THE IRISHMAN is what has been talked about for quite some time, showbiz411 has heard of another one…

The website was informed that producer Art Linson wrote a script titled THE COMEDIAN which supposedly has been read by De Niro and he loved it.
The story is about an insult comic described as “Don Rickles meets Joan Rivers”. And my favorite comedian/roast master, Jeffrey Ross reportedly helped Linson come up with some of the jokes/materials for the character’s stand up routine. De Niro is very interested
The project is set up and financed and they’re trying to get Scorsese to direct. Will it be similar to The King Of Comedy? Word has it that this would be a completely different film but it could be an Oscar worthy project for De Niro which I think is a good thing because we need something to remind us that De Niro was once a great actor and not an actor who was in Little Fockers just for the money.
But take this whole thing with a grain of salt for now til further confirmation arrives
