Scribe Hired To Adapt RAMAYAN 3392 AD About The Warrior Named Prince Rama. That’s Right!

Some people don’t like their names, but I like my name, if that’s not obvious already, which is why many think this website is pretty conceited, but hey, it is what it is.
But my name Rama was given to me by my parents not because of that Hindu God, although that is the most ancient and famous tale that carries the name. It also became sort of the basis for the 2006 Liquid Comics’ graphic novel RAMAYAN 3392 AD
Variety reported today that Mandalay Pictures has hired scribe Nic Kelman to write the screenplay for this adaptation that’s produced by Mark Canton, who brought you 300 and is bringing you IMMORTALS.
Previous draft, back in 2008, was penned by John Collee but now they’re going for a new take…

The story is a reimagining of an ancient Hindu epic. The action-adventure story centers on Prince Rama (thank you, thank very much for the applause)– a legendary blue-skinned warrior (I look good in blue) who in mythology is an incarnation of the god Vishnu — as he fights to save his beloved wife from demon forces. (My head just got so big, I don’t think it would fit the door anymore)
I just hope the Prince Rama in the adaptation won’t end up looking like those Na’vis from James Cameron’s Avatar movie

The comic that this movie’s based on and it’s written by Shamik Dasgupta and the art is by Abhishek Singh, and a brainchild of Deepak Chopra and Shekhar Kapur. It features a re-imagining of the historical classic in a post-apocalyptic future. The ultimate demon-lord that Rama has to vanquish is called Ravan.
