Season Of The Witch1

We won’t have to see Nic Cage’s long hair anytime soon because Variety says Lionsgate has taken the upcoming horror SEASON OF THE WITCH (Watch the trailer) away from its initial release date, March 19th. No word yet why the studio decided to pull such an action 5 weeks close but to make things more confusing, the movie now doesn’t have a release date. The folks at Lionsgate are working on that…
So now March 19th only belongs to Diary of a Wimpy Kid, Repo Man starring Jude Law, The Bounty Hunter starring Jennifer Aniston and Gerard Butler and The Runaways starring Dakota Fanning and Kristen Stewart.
I’m bettin’ it’s going to come down to either REPO MEN and THE BOUNTY HUNTER that’s going to win box office that weekend.

In SEASON OF THE WITCH, Nicolas Cage stars as a 14th century Crusader who returns with his comrade (Perlman) to a homeland devastated by the Black Plague. A beleaguered church, deeming sorcery the culprit of the plague, commands the two knights to transport an accused witch (Foy) to a remote abbey, where monks will perform a ritual in hopes of ending the pestilence.
A priest (Moore), a grieving knight (Thomsen), an itinerant swindler (Graham) and a headstrong youth who can only dream of becoming a knight (Sheehan) join a mission troubled by mythically hostile wilderness and fierce contention over the fate of the girl.
