Shark Night

Snakes On A Plane was an awful movie you’d watch just for the laugh and last year’s The Final Destination did have some effective 3D action but it was still a lame movie that I wouldn’t watch twice. Those two abominations have one thing in common, director David R. Ellis and he’s going to bring you another 3D thriller, complete with fin, lots of sharp teeth and an undisputed killer instinct…

According to Deadline New York, Ellis is going to direct SHARK NIGHT 3D. Keep in mind that we did have a Jaws 3D back in the 80s but it was so dumb, even real sharks felt embarrassed that they were portrayed in that manner.

SHARK NIGHT 3D was written by Jesse Studenberg and Will Hayes. No plot is not revealed yet but I got a feeling hte plot would be the last reason for anybody to watch this movie… it’s described as a “scary 3D ride”
Production will start this summer in Louisiana with a budget of $28 Million financed by Incentive Filmed Entertainment.
Ellis who shot The Final Destination with 3D cameras.. at least he got that part right, instead of all this useless post-production conversion.. is expected to shoot SHARK NIGHT with 3D cameras as well.

Now, he’s not necessarily the wrong man for the job and this project is not necessarily doomed because Ellis used to be the second unit director for The Perfect Storm and Deep Blue Sea, so he knows a thing or two about water shoots.
Plus the animatronic sharks for SHARK NIGHT 3D will be created by Walt Conti, the effects man behind Deep Blue Sea, the giant snake in Anaconda and the Free Willy whales. Say what you want about those movies but those creatures looked damn convincing.
