Some say Shia LaBeouf is the next Tom Hanks, I say as long as he’s still in Bay’s giant robot movies, his dream of being on the same level of greatness as Hanks is a million miles away but LaBeouf is a lucky actor, having worked with prominent filmmakers and is attached to a gazillion projects including the adaptation of John Grisham‘s book THE ASSOCIATE. According to The Wrap there’s another project that he’s eyeing and that’s TRIPLE NINE….

The website also said director John Hillcoat (The Proposition, The Road) is interested in helming this crime drama produced by Steve Gollin, scripted by Matt Cooke.
Both LaBeouf and Hillcoat haven’t officially signed on to this yet but who can say no to this plot for TRIPLE NINE..

concerns a group of crooked cops planning a major heist who realize they must shoot one of their own in order to get away with it. The lead character is an upstanding young officer who they choose as their victim.
999 is the police code indicating that an officer needs immediate assistance.

Ok, that definitely caught my attention, now that is an interesting concept, can’t wait to see how it plays out.
Warner Bros. is in talks to pick up the project packaged by WME
