Should There Be INCEPTION Sequel? I Hope Not

Made with a budget of about $160 Million, Christopher Nolan’s masterpiece INCEPTION banked about $810 Million to this day and it remains one of the best-rated movies of 2010. But let me ask you this, those of you who’ve watched it. SPOILER ALERT! you remember the ending right?! Cobb with his spinning top, he met his kids and you were left wondering if the top was going to topple, if it was real or he was just dreaming the whole reunion. When you watched that, did you think at the time, that the ending left some room for a sequel? …

What’sPlaying heard from a reliable inside source that WB wants INCEPTION 2.

Last we checked, Nolan didn’t want another INCEPTION movie but he was cool with the idea of developing INCEPTION video game and have the story continue there.
So at this point, it’s only the studio that wants the sequel and obviously for the very same reason why any studio would want a sequel to any of their successful installments.. money.
If the studio wants it bad, does this mean they might hire another writer and another director for the sequel? Which is by the way is not an uncommon practice.

But I hope this never happens.. I can understand Nolan making BATMAN 2, BATMAN 3, BATMAN 5 and on and on. But Inception to me was just right for the time when it arrived. By that I mean, in the midst of remakes and sequels and, bam! There was Inception back in July that pretty much stood out. Having INCEPTION sequel would not make it stand out anymore, it would make it.. well, it will put it on the same level as the other remakes and sequels that either disappoint us or slowly but surely go downhill in terms of quality.
But that’s just my take on it. What do you think?
How do you think the story could continue?
