From one CW’s show to another, Deadline said Kristin Kreuk a.k.a Lana Lang of Smallville, has been cast as the female lead, Catherine, in CW’s BEAUTY AND THE BEAST series reboot…

This series is a remake of 1980s series BEAUTY AND THE BEAST, the old original one starred Linda Hamilton and Ron Perlman about the adventures and romance of a sensitive and cultured lion-man and a crusading District Attorney assistant.
You first heard of this new project back in September.
The pilot will be directed by Gary Fleder, it’s a modern day romantic love story with a procedural twist, scripted by Jennifer Levin and Sherri Cooper
