You heard the other a rumor that got geeks, fanboys, fangirls, and nerds everywhere stoked like crazy, rumor about Benedict Cumberbatch possibly reteaming with his Star Trek Into Darkness director J.J. Abrams on STAR WARS: EPISODE VII
But via NYDaily, it seems that Cumberbatch’s rep has shot down the rumor
“There is no truth to the rumour Benedict has been cast in Star Wars,”
“I think the rumours are circling because JJ and Benedict have just recently had a wonderful time working together on Star Trek .”
Look ,… remember, when it comes to rumors like this, you never quite know which one is telling the truth. Perhaps the rep shot down the rumor because the talks are still in early stages and they don’t want to jinx it in case the deals don’t go through, who the heck knows. Perhaps the rep wants to protect Cumberbatch from getting his hopes up, it’s no secret that Cumberbatch is a Star Wars nerd, who the heck knows. There have been situations in the past when rumors get shot down only to eventually be confirmed as true later on, who the heck knows.
So until we get some kind of official casting announcement from mouse house studio, let the fun possibilities continue.
Keep in mind that STAR WARS: EPISODE VII is an original story written by Michael Arndt, and the event is set 30 years after Return Of The Jedi.
