Director Brad Bird who consistently gave us great movies like The Incredibles, Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol, Ratatouille, Iron Giant was rumored to possibly take on STAR WARS: EPISODE 7 for Disney-LucasFilm, there was even a viral video campaigning for Bird to get the job but nope, turns out, Bird has joined the many other A-list filmmakers who’ve publicly said that they’re NOT going to be involved with STAR WARS: EPISODE 7
Many fans asked Bird the question, one after another, but he tweeted no to each one..
Not doing Star Wars.
Nope. A science fiction film. Not Star Wars.
It’s not Episode VII.
Thanks. But the science fiction film I AM doing is gonna be cool.
The sci-fi project that Bird was referring to is 1952 also housed at Disney and with George Clooney attached to star.
This extraterrestrial film, scripted by Damon Lindelof and Jeff Jensen, has a plot that’s currently kept secret but has been described as a Close Encounters Of The Third Kind-esque story about a man who makes contacts with aliens on earth.
1952 marks Bird’s 2nd live action project.
