Stephen Frears Will Remake His Own HIT
December 14, 2011RamaNo CommentsJeremy Thomas, Peter Prince, Stephen Frears, The Hit

I’m a big fan of Brit Gangster movies, which is why I’d like for Guy Ritchie to return to that world.
Anyways, I have yet to see 1984′s THE HIT, directed by Stephen Frears but Frears feels like he can do the same film better.
Variety reported that Producer Jeremy Thomas will reteam with Frears and scribe Peter Prince to Americanize THE HIT, so ya, it will no longer be Brit.
This remake changes the location of the story to Mexico and the U.S.
The original movie, starring John Hurt, Tim Roth and Terence Stamp is about incompetent hitmen hired by the London mob to kidnap an informer from his Spanish hideaway and bring him to Paris for execution.
