Steve Carell Explains Why He Won’t Return As Michael Scott For THE OFFICE Series Finale

Just like Two And A Half Men, The Office also has stopped being funny to me years ago, why those two shows are still on is beyond me.
But THE OFFICE is calling it quit and there were possibilities that it might go out with the return of former boss Michael Scott, played by Steve Carell for years, for the majority of the show’s run.
But Carell, who is now a big comedy movie star has decided, via AccessHollywood, that he will not accept the offer to play Michael Scott again for one final goodbye..
“I just didn’t think it was right for the character, because that character had had an arc within the story and kind of grew and sort of evolved past the idea of the documentary,”
“I’m really good friends with everybody on the cast and with [executive producer] Greg Daniels and I want to go back to say, ‘Hi,’ certainly, before it all ends. but I just thought, in terms of the character, it didn’t make sense.”
Sounds like he’s trying to distance himself from a show that’s pretty much long gone in my book, I don’t blame Carell, he’s not being ungrateful, just realistic.
