Sylvain White To Round Up King Arthur And His Gang For PENDRAGON

The age of English kings and knights are coming back. Ridley Scott’s got ROBIN HOOD for us this summer.. although it looks more like Maximus with bow and arrow. Both Bryan Singer and Guy Ritchie now each has EXCALIBUR of their own, let’s see how those two would work out. And now LA Times said Sylvain White (Stomp The Yard) is bringing his own tale of King Arthur in PENDRAGON…
White this year is bringing us the graphic novel adaptation THE LOSERS, I see it as the other A-TEAM. PENDRAGON (a reference to the medieval English term for “chief dragon,” a euphemism for leader) is based on a script by Lee Shipman and Brian McGreevy. The report says it’s some sort of an origin story at Arthur, Lancelot, Guinevere and the rest of the Knights Of The Roundtable.. for some reason I always think of Pizza whenever that word shows up.
They say White’s experience helming Stomp The Yard, dealing with youth and romance would help a lot with PENDRAGON. Housed at New Regency, this story is expected to add to the rich folklore about the heroes who are reputed to have led a fight against a Saxon invasion in 6th century England. Yup, after all these years, the adventures King Arthur and the gang, to many, are nothing but folklore.
By the way, I thought Clive Owen did a badass portrayal of Arthur in Antoine Fuqua-directed movie King Arthur back in 2004. But I think White is looking for someone younger.
