Boondock Saints 2

I just came back from L.A. and I am now a happy man because the red-band trailer for THE BOONDOCK SAINTS II: ALL SAINTS DAY has hit the web via IGN. I missed out on it back at the Comic-Con ’09 because I had to be at the IRON MAN 2 panel. No regrets though. I’m a big fan of the first movie, it’s got cool written all over it.
Troy Duffy is back, the boys are back plus Clifton Collins Jr. and the world is… violent and well.

The highly-anticipated sequel to indie cult classic, “The Boondock Saints.” The film is the continuation of writer & director Troy Duffy’s tough, stylized cutting edge saga of fraternal twins, the MacManus brothers (Norman Reedus, Sean Patrick Flanery). The two have been in deep hiding in the quiet valleys of Ireland, far removed from their former lives or modern technologies. When word comes that a priest has been killed by sinister forces in the tough underworld of Boston, they return to mount a violent and bloody crusade to bring justice to those who must now suffer the consequences, with a new partner in crime (Clifton Collins) and a sexy FBI operative (Julie Benz) hot on their trail!

APPARITION AND SONY PICTURES WORLDWIDE ACQUISITIONS GROUP ANNOUNCE THE RELEASE OF

THE BOONDOCK SAINTS II: ALL SAINTS DAY

Sequel to Indie Cult Classic Hits Theaters on October 30

Culver City, CA – September 3, 2009— Apparition and Sony Pictures Worldwide Acquisitions Group (SPWAG) today announce the release of THE BOONDOCK SAINTS II: ALL SAINTS DAY in the U.S. on October 30.  The announcement was made jointly today by Apparition’s Bob Berney and SPWAG President Steve Bersch.

THE BOONDOCK SAINTS II: ALL SAINTS DAY is the continuation of writer/director Troy Duffy’s tough, stylized cutting edge saga of the MacManus brothers played by Norman Reedus (American Gangster, Pandorum) and Sean Patrick Flanery (Powder, Suicide Kings). While in hiding with their father, Il Duce (Billy Connolly), the brothers learn that a beloved priest has been killed by sinister forces from deep within the mob and return to Boston to mount a violent and bloody crusade to bring justice to those responsible.  Rounding out the cast is a new partner in crime (Clifton Collins Jr., Star Trek, Extract) and a sexy FBI operative (Julie Benz, TV’s “Dexter”, Rambo).

“The reaction to the filmmakers and cast at Comic-con was phenomenal,” said Berney. “There have been rumors about a sequel for years and they’ve delivered a solid follow up with lots of surprises for the fans.”

SPWAG will handle domestic ancillary rights and all international rights.

“The Boondock Saints franchise is unique in that it has not only a cult-like devotion but also very broad appeal.  Boondock Saints II is a great follow-up, featuring both returning cast along with great new cast members. We’re thrilled to help support this new chapter in Troy Duffy’s vision,” said Bersch.

THE BOONDOCK SAINTS II: ALL SAINTS DAY is produced by Chris Brinker and Don Carmody, and written and directed by Troy Duffy.
