The INVASTION Of Summit And Eli Roth
December 1, 2009RamaNo CommentsBen Magid, Eli Roth, Eric Newman, Invasion, Summit Entertainment
When I heard about this, immediately I thought ‘o hell naw! not a remake of the 2007 body snatchin’ crapola The Invasion!’ I hated that movie!’ Thankfully this one is different but still has that alien factor. Shocktilyoudrop.com reported that Summit Entertainment has bought the spec script INVASION by scribe Ben Magid. No details on the plot yet but it’s disaster thriller described as Cloverfield-esque. Well that doesn’t give much assurance, I wasn’t a fan of Cloverfield either, but here’s the logline…
“the film opens with a wicked subway accident in Los Angeles in which the survivors (the film’s protagonists) climb from the wreckage to find the, now “snowy,” city in ruins. What they encounter topside is bodies, mobs of people in a state of panic and acidic “goo.”"
What do you think? Could be fun? Another War Of The Worlds type of movie?
INVASION will be produced by the twisted Eli Roth (Hostel movies) and Eric Newman. The website reminds us that Roth himself is making his own disaster flick ENDANGERED SPECIES.
