THE KILLER INSIDE ME Fascinating Trailer

Wow! You have got to watch this trailer. It’s not as graphic and violent as the early promo but you can just sense how harrowing it gets with each brilliant shot, not to mention the music, the cinematography and of course, Casey Affleck‘s masterful yet creepy performance, stone cold heartless like Bardem’s character in No Country For Old Men. THE KILLER INSIDE ME made its way to Sundance ’10 and it will open in select cities this summer but I wouldn’t be surprised if it ends up at Oscars for a number of categories. From director Michael Winterbottom (A Mighty Heart) for a movie adaptation titled THE KILLER INSIDE ME based on the ‘dark’ noir novel of the same title by author Jim Thompson. The story is told through the eyes of its protagonist, Lou Ford (Casey Affleck), a deputy sheriff in a small Texas town. He is slowly revealed to be a deeply disturbed murderer—one who is paranoid-schizophrenic, sociopathic, cunning, and ruthless.
Ford murders a prostitute (Jessica Alba) and her lover, the latter a son of a local millionaire and the real power in town. Ford then proceeds to build himself a solid alibi and frame other people for the double homicide. However, to successfully frame others when the evidence starts to go against him, he has to commit additional murders or induce further deaths. But these only increase suspicion until the local authorities begin stripping away his “normal” mask. Then he reveals the full nature of the inner demons that drive his criminal behavior.
