THE LEGEND OF CONAN Wants WETA To Help Them Out

Quick recap, the new CONAN movie, THE LEGEND OF CONAN will once again star Arnold Schwarzenegger.
The story is said to be a sequel to the 1984 movie, Conan The Barbarian, and it will act as if both Conan The Destroyer and the 2011 reboot, starring Jason Momoa, never existed. Good! Because those last two films were dreadful.
TheArnoldFans got some exclusives from Arnold himself who still thinks he’s not too old for the job.

“Well, age doesn’t mean anything to me, because I work out every day. I work out twice a day, as a matter of fact. At night I work out with weights, and in the morning I do cardiovascular training. So for me, to get on the set and to swing the sword around again and to ride the horses and all those things doesn’t mean anything [does not scare me], because I feel like I did thirty years ago. So as long as I stay in shape, that’s the key thing, and to keep your body young. Even though you do feel the pain when you wipe out and when you do your fight scenes and you get more sore and the body doesn’t come back as quickly and all this . . . but just grind through it, you know? That’s what it’s all about!”

Producer Fredrik Malmberg also chimed in and hoped that Peter Jackson’s VFX wizards at WETA workshop would provide their skills for THE LEGEND OF CONAN, I’m guessing one of the hopes is for them to make Arnold to somehow still be able to look the part..

“As you know right now, we’re concentrating on the story and the script, and then we’ll go out and find the right director who has the same passion as the rest of us in the group. And you always have to let the creative side and let the director put his stamp and mark on it so you never know what’s going to happen with the production design. I mean, we’re trying to get the TOP production people involved. We’re talking all the time about who we’d see doing the production, and our dream would be to have the WETA Workshop guys, the Lord of the Rings and Hobbit guys. They are huge Conan fans and they would be great to be involved on the creative side.”

This goes along with Arnold’s previous statement hoping that filming locations will take place in New Zealand and he reportedly said that they’re going to take the story where Conan is at his age so you won’t be seeing a 30-year old action guy.
Producers Fredrik Malmberg and Chris Morgan (Fast And Furious films) will bring Conan back to the big screen with Morgan possibly in charge of the script and the plan is to potentially make Arnold Schwarzenegger reprise his role as CONAN and the project is called THE LEGEND OF CONAN.
They’re going to treat this as if the old CONAN sequel (1984′s Conan The Destroyer) never happened.
Morgan, who hasn’t officially signed on to write the script yet, previously said that this project is not going to be a reboot, it’s more like an update
