THE LONE RANGER Script Review
December 23, 2009RamaNo CommentsGeorge Clooney, Jerry Bruckheimer, Johnny Depp, Mike Newell, Prince of Persia: The Sands Of Time, The Lone Ranger
This past summer, producer Jerry Bruckheimer said that THE LONE RANGER movie based on the classic series, is going to happen later, possibly after PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN: ON STRANGERS TIDE and for a while we know that Johnny Depp is very much interested in playing Tonto the sidekick. The name Mike Newell (Prince Of Persia: The Sands Of Time) was rumored to helm but the project currently doesn’t have a director attached. George Clooney was once rumored to be interested in playing the masked hero of the old west. I think he’d be perfect. So far, this project is filed under ‘in development’, in the time being, IESB’s Ghost has read the script…
It’s a very lengthy and thorough cript review containing spoilers and characters , you can read the rest OVER THERE but what is being emphasized is.. don’t get your hopes up..
Unfortunately after reading it (I read quite fast) I debated whether or not it was worth the trouble and maybe I should just put it back where I “found” it. Yes folks… it’s a disappointment.
Guess that’s what you get when you have an old west story and that story had a messed up flipper baby with New Moon and the New Moon/Old west story’s child was this messed up script.
Maybe they should let the screenwriting team Halsted Welles, Michael Brandt and Derek Haas (3:10 To Yuma) take a crack at rewriting the script and have Depp play Lone Ranger and Adam Beach (Flags Of Our Fathers) as Tonto. Just a thought.
