The Reunion Of Connery And Bassey For SIR BILLI

I’ve said before that the great Sir Sean Connery needs to come out of retirement and back to acting again because exiting the business with a lame movie like League Of Extraordinary Gentlemen was not fair to us fans who still think he’s better than that. Connery’s presence may not be coming back to the screen anytime soon, not even as Indiana Jones‘ father again, no matter how many badly Spielberg tries to beg but at least we can hear Connery’s voice in a new animated movie which will reunite him with another legend…
According to Hollywood Reporter, Dame Shirley Bassey, the legendary singer who performed the theme song for the 1964 Connery James Bond movie, GOLDFINGER is back to perform the title song Guardian Of The Highlands, for the new animated feature SIR BILLI starring the voices of Sean Connery, Alan Cumming, Miriam Margolyes, Ruby Wax, Alex Norton, Ford Kiernan, Greg Hempill, Barbara Rafferty, John Amabile, Larry Sullivan and Chris Jai Alex.
SIR BILLI is Sascha and Tessa Hartmann‘s labor of love, the movie is in post production and is set to open in 2010. The plot is.. imaginative, to say the very least, it’s about a “retired, skateboarding veterinarian who lives in a remote Scottish village and who spearheads the rescue of an illegal fugitive who also happens to be a beaver” if that’s not the work of someone with a boundless imagination, then I don’t know what that is. It’d be interesting though to eventually see first look production official still images and trailers once they hit the web.
* Here’s the classic iconic GOLDFINGER Song… with a midas touch!
