THE RUNAWAYS First Official Image. Apparition To Distribute

THE RUNAWAYS will make its way to the upcoming Sundance Film Festival. The first official image has showed up online, you can see the whole size after the jump. Is it wrong for me to say that Dakota Fanning looks absolutely stunning in that image? Because a decade ago she was just a little girl in I Am Sam.
EW and Riskybusiness reported that Apparition has picked up the US rights to THE RUNAWAYS and will release the biopic of the all female Rock n’ Roll band in theaters on March 19th, 2010. The movie hasn’t premiered at Sundance yet and it’s already got a date and a distributor, that’s cool and all but I remember this past year Apparition distributed Black Dynamite and Boondock Saints II which I thought were entertaining movies and yet they opened limited only in select cities and that stinks because not many got to enjoy them…

Written and directed by Floria Sigismondi, THE RUNAWAYS is based on Jett’s 1970s girl rock band named The Runaways, the members were guitarists Jett and Lita Ford, drummer late Sandy West, singer-keyboardist Cherie Currie and bassist Jackie Fox.The band lasted about four years together, falling apart over management and money issues. The film will revolve around Jett and Currie and follow them from the band’s meteoric rise as teenagers to their dissolution and disillusionment and the struggle with their abusive manager played by Michael Shannon.
