THE Silent ARTIST In This Trailer

What was the last silent film you’ve ever seen? Have you ever seen any of Chaplin’s classics? Either case, the following is the reason why I feel a bit down every summer, knowing that I don’t have the budget to actually go and visit Cannes film festival, they always show such interesting films competing over there..

Via comingsoon, Lyricis Interactive and 24 Frames, this is the Cannes trailer for THE ARTIST, it looks like an old film but it’s actually new, what’s unique about it is that.. it’s a silent film

This French film is directed by Michel Hazanavicius, starring Jean Dujardin, Bérénice Bejo, John Goodman, James Cromwell and Penelope Ann Miller
The story is set in Hollywood during the transition from silent films to sound, the director shot the film in real Hollywood locations.
The U.S. rights to THE ARTIST is being coveted by several distributors including TWC
Whoever gets its hands on it, I sure hope the film gets a fair release because the fact that it’s a silent film, in this day and age, is already an attraction in itself.
THE ARTIST has been taken from its ‘out-of-competition’ slot to one of the 20 films competing for the glamorous Palme d’Or.
