THE STRANGERS 2 Is Happening

We know for a while that the sequel to the scariest movie in 2008, The Strangers was happening. Last year it was announced that director Bryan Bertino would write the script again although it was unclear whether he’d return to helm the project. The first installment was made at $9 million budget and earned a pretty good $54 million box office money domestically in a highly competitive summer release slot. What I liked about it is that the concept was so simple and yet every minute was intense and thrilling and it freaked me out. A couple who got terrorized by three masked disturbed intruders. I knew then a potential franchise was born.

Now Variety reported Laurent Briet has signed on to direct THE STRANGERS 2. Production is set to start in September. No word yet if hottie Liv Tyler would reprise her role but I doubt it because SPOILER ALERT! At the end of the first movie, Liv Tyler’s character and Scott Speedman’s character got stabbed several time by the psychotic intruders but then at the last second before the screen turned dark, Liv Tyler woke up and screamed.
