THE WALKING DEAD Star Jon Bernthal Might Reunite With Frank Darabont On L.A. NOIR??

January 23, 2012RamaNo Comments,

This info is kinda odd, because I’m a fan of AMC’s great series, The Walking Dead (which will return next month, by the way, Awesome!) And I don’t recall hearing Jon Bernthal’s a-hole character Shane Walsh possibly gettin’ killed off, but Variety reported that Bernthal is in early talks with TNT to star in the new period drama series L.A. NOIR which is godfathered by Frank Darabont who developed the adaptation The Walking Dead before Darabont got booted
TNT hasn’t confirmed Bernthal’s involvement yet but if the deal’s locked in, Bernthal would play..

Joe Teague, the Los Angeles cop at the center of the show that examines corruption in the LAPD and ties between police and underworld figures in the 1940s and ’50s.

Based on John Buntin‘s book, L.A. NOIR: THE STRUGGLE FOR THE SOUL OF AMERICA’S MOST SEDUCTIVE CITY greenlit TNT
Darabont will be writing and directing the pilot, which will be exec-produced by Michael De Luca and Elliot Webb
Below are the official synopsis of both the TV show and the book..

L.A. Noir is the true story of a decades-long conflict between the Los Angeles Police Department, under the determined leadership of Police Chief William Parker, and ruthless criminal elements led by Mickey Cohen, a one-time boxer who rose to the top of L.A.’s criminal world. The series is a fast-paced crime drama set in Los Angeles during the 1940s and ’50s. It’s a world of glamorous movie stars, powerful studio heads, returning war heroes, a powerful and corrupt police force and an even more dangerous criminal network determined to make L.A. its West Coast base.
