Real quick now, via comingsoon.net, 83rd Academy Awards producers announced the following artists will perform the nominated songs on February 27th…
Gwyneth Paltrow will perform the song “Coming Home” from the film Country Strong. Paltrow is not the most talented singer but I enjoyed her live performance at the previous CMA Awards, definitely looking forward to this one.
A.R. Rahman and Florence Welch of Florence + the Machine will perform the song “If I Rise” from the film 127 Hours
Multiple Oscar winning composer, Alan Menken who is nominated this year for the song “I See The Light” from the animated film Tangled, will play the song on the piano accompanying singers Mandy Moore and Zachary Levy
Last but not least, the great Randy Newman will perform his Toy Story 3 nominated song “We Belong Together”,.. for some reason that title keeps reminding me of that one Mariah Carey’s past hit.
The 83rd Annual Academy Awards will happen on Sunday, February 27, 2011, televised live on the ABC Television Network.

So.. What Did You Think About TRON: LEGACY? Dec 17, 2010

I will listen just to hear Randy Newman. Remember the year he won? He came to the stage and said to the standing ovation, “Now, now, it’s not that incredible,” or words to the effect. Gotta love him, and he’s contributed so much to the films for which he’s worked.
Gwyneth Paltrow? It will be like if Reese Witherspoon had sung for the Oscars the year of “Walk the Line.” Wouldn’t that have been pathetic? Well….
