Tom Hardy And Charlize Theron In MAD MAX 4

UPDATE: Variety has confirmed that the following info is TRUE. Tom Hardy is set to star as the new Max Rockatansky and Charlize Theron is the female lead. MAD MAX: FURY ROAD. Filming starts next year in August in Australia. HeatVisionBlog says the movie will be set a short while after the story in Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome (1985) just to keep Max relatively young.

It baffles me why George Miller keeps insisting on making MAD MAX 4. Can’t he just focus on Happy Feet movies and let us cherish and enjoy the old Road Warrior movies as they were?! Miller doesn’t want to do this new movie with Mel Gibson cause the filmmaker thinks Gibson is too old now. Can’t argue with that, Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull is an example of a fourth installment starring somebody who’s too old to be pretending like he was still in his prime. On the other hand, why would you wanna make a MAD MAX Movie without Max a.k.a Gibson?!…

According to EOnline, and please take this with grain of salt for now, Miller wants Tom Hardy (Bronson) to be the new Max and Charlize Theron to play the lead female role in MAD MAX 4.
So yeah, it doesn’t sound like they’ve been approached yet, no formal deals have been made… it’s more like Miller’s wish-list.
Previously, Jeremy Renner (The Hurt Locker) said he was screen-testing for this project. Although it was unclear if he was trying to get the role of the new Max or another character in the story.
We don’t have anything to worry for now because nothing official has been set in motion, it hasn’t been greenlit either, the plot and the roles are also kept secret.
