Too Many Marvel Characters In DEADPOOL Movie?

October 10, 2010Rama3 Comments,

Ryan Reynolds will still be busy with THE CHANGE-UP, SAFE HOUSE and then it’s either R.I.P.D. or DEADPOOL which still has yet to have a director but Bleedingcool heard a rumor from New York Comic-Con about other characters that might make appearances in the movie about the wisecrackin’ mercenary. Check out excerpt after this jump. Those of you DEADPOOL die-hards might recognize some of these names..

some of the characters are very closely associated with Deadpool anyway. There’s Blind Al, Deadpool’s sort-of-roommate, and Patch, the barman-come-mercenary dispatcher who gives Deadpool his jobs. I’m sure you were already expecting those. Then there’s several Weapon-X characters, including (but not limited to) Wyre, Ajax, Sluggo and Garrison Kane.

Wade Wilson’s love affair with Vanessa Carlysle is apparently a key part of the story, though I’ve been promised that she’s never seen in her Copycat guise and there’s no indication she’s a mutant at all. But this won’t be a mutant-shy production…

…because one of the X-Men appears. Can you guess which one? Place your bets now, ladies and gentlemen.

It’s an X-Man we’ve already seen on the big screen. Twice. Played by the same actor each time. Maybe they’ll get him back for this too. Do you know who it is yet? It’s none other than Piotr Rasputin. It’s Colossus.

the Wolverine: X-Men Origins version of Wade Wilson as a Weapon X project makes… um… a special appearance. in the screenplay.

What the hell is Colossus doing here? the website said Colossus will be there in more than one scene, so it’s more than just a fun cameo.
BTW, Colossus was played by actor Daniel Cudmore in 2006′s X-Men 3: The Last Stand.

Zombieland writers Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick were hired to pen the story which they insist will stay true to the mythology cause they don’t wanna offend “Reynolds who is a huge fan and protector of the property”. The character creator Rob Liefeld previously said that DEADPOOL movie is going to break the 4th wall and the red antihero will be “tortured, clever, a bastard and mucho action”.

  1. Can’t wait for this release! Ryan Reynolds was a perfect cast & I’m glad that Colossus is finally getting some screen time. With the special FX tricks out there, I’m expecting some AMAZING visuals… Let’s hope disappointment’s NOT on the menu.

  2. Except that time and time again Fox has proved that it’s completely incompetent in making any more X-Men related films.
