Two Separate Competing EXODUS Projects In The Works.. Let Moses' People Go!

As you know there are 2 competing STEVE McQUEEN projects, there are 2 competing MARILYN MONROE projects, one of them stars Michelle Williams. But, via Vulture, WB and Fox are going back.. way back… forget icons of the 50s and 60s.. they’re going back to Biblical times..

I find the timing for these 2 separate projects a bit weird, if they had been in development after the success of The Passion Of The Christ, then I would’ve understood, because Christian themed movies were popular in that season. Another thing that baffles me is is there really interest in watching yet another movie about Moses getting the Israelites out of Egypt?! I personally found The Ten Commandments timeless and the 90s Prince Of Egypt did its job.

MOSES’ Exodus project number 1
Housed at WB, produced by Dan Lin and Matti Leshem.
This one will be an epic version of the story of the Israelites’ departure from Egypt
Working on the story will be British screenwriter Stuart Hazeldine and screenwriter Michael Green who co-wrote WB’s GREEN LANTERN

MOSES’ Exodus project number 2
Housed at 20th Century Fox, it’s currently called The Untitled Moses Project from screenwriting team, Bill Collage and Adam Cooper. Their resume’s not that impressive (New York Minute, Accepted) but they are adapting MOBY DICK for Universal and they’re also working on MARCO POLO for WB
No further details yet at this point but they’re looking for a director

The million Egyptian dollar question is.. who will get to play MOSES?
Who in today’s works is as charismatic as Charlton Heston when he held the staff and parted the red sea?
Should he have an accent like Gerard Butler perhaps? I’m kiddin’ about that one of course.. Butler would be a horrible idea
