Uma Thurman SMASH!!!!!

Poor Uma Thurman hasn’t had a movie hit in a while, things went downhill for her since My Super Ex-Girlfriend. I mean.. let’s face it, The Accidental Husband, Percy Jackson, Motherhood, those were just dreadful. Last year’s Ceremony was quite entertaining because the concept, the story, and the characters were quirky.
But just like any has-been movie star who can’t seem to get their shine back, Thurman turns to TV for salvation…

Hollywood Reporter said Thurman has signed on to guest star in NBC’s mid-season musical drama SMASH. The Oscar nominated actress of Pulp Fiction and Kill Bill will guest star in 5 episodes of the show, she’s set to play a famous movie star who’s hard to work with and she’s interested in the idea of starring in a musical called MARILYN which is about Marilyn Monroe.

SMASH series is based on an idea by Steven Spielberg, the pilot was written by Theresa Rebeck, directed by Michael Mayer and with original songs penned by Marc Shaiman and Scott Wittman>

Here’s the official synopsis which also tells you who’s who will star in the show..

At the heart of the show are the musical’s composer Tom (Christian Borle), who is gay, and the lyricist Julia (Debra Messing), who is somewhat against the idea of a Marilyn Monroe-themed musical. The plot will follow follow an out-of-town tryout of a Broadway musical, and centers around a songwriting team who write a musical about Marilyn Monroe based on an offhanded remark from an assistant. They post a showstopping number on YouTube. When it’s a viral hit, a producer (Anjelica Huston) who’s looking to recapture success long past decides to produce the musical. There are two choices to play Marilyn – Karen (Katharine McPhee), a talented young newcomer, and Ivy (Megan Hilty), a theater veteran.
