The man you see in the image above is Patrick Tatopoulos, a creature and special effects designer who helped create the monsters in Pitch Black, I Am Legend and Trick R Treat. But last year he surprised me with his feature directorial debut Underworld: Rise Of The Lycans which turned out to be a decent January action flick. According to Hollywood Reporter, he’s attached to direct SUSPENSION…
Producing team Daniel Alter and Adrian Askarieh (Hitman, the upcoming KANE & LYNCH) have optioned the action/horror spec script SUSPENSION by Scott Milam who penned the upcoming MOTHER’S DAY remake starring Jamie King.
SUSPENSION is “set in the German Alps as a raging fire burns and a rescue helicopter is forced to make an emergency landing on an old suspension bridge. Trapped, the passengers’ hope for survival go up in flames as they face a new kind of creature”
As if the fire itself isn’t bad enough, they also have to face a creature!? That’s double the fun!
Tatopoulos wants to create a new type of creature, the report doesn’t state what kind or what he has in mind. Alter and Askarieh want to make SUSPENSION through independent financing in order to keep more control of the branded ancillary markets
This however will not be Tatopoulos’ next gig because first he’s going to shoot that adaptation of I, FRANKENSTEIN in the fall.
