If Summit can have TWILIGHT and Liongsate can have THE HUNGER GAMES, surely Universal can have its own young adult franchise.
Hollywood Reporter said Universal has picked up the screen rights to Julie Kagawa’s untitled young adult book series proposal and the project will be produced by Chris Morgan.
Boy they’re not wasting any precious time, are they?!
Here’s how the trades describes the plot of this supernatural story..
set in a present-day coastal town where mythical creatures hide amongst us cloaked as humans. Slayers belonging to an order that dates back to St. George infiltrate the town disguised as out-of-town kids, setting up a confrontation and, as is the case with YA books, a love triangle.
Yup! You can’t have a young adult story without a cheesy love triangle.
What do you think?
