Mark Millar is one lucky graphic novelist, because everytime he busts out a product, Hollywood loves to turn ‘em into a movie. Heat Vision said Universal Pictures is in talks to option WAR HEROES, based on the comic book of the same title, created by Mark Millar and Tony Harris.
The screenwriting team of Marvel’s DOCTOR STRANGER movie, Thomas Dean Donnelly and Joshua Oppenheimer, may get to write the screenplay for WAR HEROES adaptation which will be produced by Michael De Luca, Chris Morgan and Dana Brunetti
The project was initially housed at Columbia which then put it in turnaround and now it belongs to Universal
The story centers on a U.S. military experimental program developed in light of dwindling enlistments and the expanding war on terrorism that gives ordinary soldiers superpowers. When a rogue group of the super-soldiers breaks off to form a criminal enterprise, one hero rises from their ranks to prevent catastrophic results
